Frequently  Asked

Questions

  • Do you host weddings?
Absolutely! We LOVE love! If you're considering us for your wedding celebration, you should understand that The Lodge at Water's Edge is ultimately in a wilderness setting and is an eco-therapy retreat center. This means, yes there are bugs, animals and unpredictable weather. When considering an outdoor event, this is a NATURE LOVERS venue. If you're not a huge fan of the outdoors, you might find that our inside spaces are just rustic enough while still providing a truly opulent space for your wedding dinner.
  • Why don't you have TV's in your rentals?
A few reasons; eco-therapy doesn't involve TV's, they mess with the mid-century vibe, and honestly, the service is not reliable enough to warrant furnishing TV's.
  • Do you have Wi-Fi? How's the service down there?
We do have AT&T hotspot Wi-Fi devices. Although most days it is strong, due to the property's remote location, it is not always reliable. We provide these hotspots as a courtesy, however we do not guarantee Wi-Fi availability.
  • How many people can you accommodate for an event?
    The guest limit is 50.
  • How many people can stay over night?
The properties current overnight guest limit is 20.
  • Can I bring my own food/caterer?
We do not currently require that you hire any specific catering service for events or retreats. We do require an in person meeting and site visit with any service provider that we have not collaborated with yet. We have a fully renovated commercial kitchen with an abundance of equipment and service ware for collaborative use.
  • Do you sell alcohol?
No we do not sell or provide any alcohol. We provide RAMP certified bartending services for events. When alcohol is served at an event, the client hosting the event, must get a personally-acquired, single-event liability insurance rider. These policies can be obtained through your homeowners insurance or select insurance companies. We require this of any client who intends to serve alcohol at an event.
  • Do we need to bring our own firewood?
Definitely not! We are plentiful with our firewood and are more than happy to provide as much as you need.
  • What is the pet policy?
We have a strict pet policy that we only extend to guests who have proven to be impeccable communicators and we reserve the right to withdrawal our decision to allow your pet(s) on property at anytime for any reason. With that being said, we are true animal lovers and if we can reach an understanding on the terms we'd be happy to accommodate your request. Important things to note, we have 3 cats that roam the property freely at all times. They are brothers so if you see them you might think you're seeing double or even triple! The property owners dog is a border collie/blue heeler mix named Katie. She is the true boss around here!!! None of our pets are permitted inside any of the indoor spaces or rentals, nor is it ok to feed them, EVER. Our pet deposit is $300 with $150 reserved for cleaning and $150 returned at the close of your stay provided there is no property damage.
  • Do you have a sound system? Can I hire a DJ or a band?
We have a house sound system. We will work with a DJ or live music performer. We ALWAYS require a site visit 30 days before any event when we work with a new DJ or performer.
  • How do I book?
To book an event please find any of the links throughout our website to "submit an inquiry". For general questions we're always available via call or text at 724-651-6111. To book our cabin, cottage, or suites please see our rentals page.
  • Food Allergies?
We cannot accommodate any substitutions for Prix Fixe dinners. For other types of events we can accommodate, with notice and to the best of our abilities, for any allergy or sensitivity. We are NOT ABLE TO CERTIFY gluten, nut, dairy or any other "allergen free" items because we only have one kitchen. However, we take allergies seriously and we use our best practices to avoid cross contamination.
